The evolution
of a brand campaign

I started working on TD Ameritrade right as the first Green Room commercials were about to air. After that, I helped turn the campaign from just a man on a green couch into an icon for the brand.

In early 2020, the brand launched a new tagline: Where Smart Investors Get Smarter. But watching someone getting smarter is like watching paint dry. That is, unless that person gets smarter in an ‘80s style training montage. So, my partner and I studied every Rocky movie and recreated the most iconic scenes with a TD Ameritrade twist.

Of course, we had to make some Green Room spots that walked before our Rocky homage could run.

An official MLB sponsor, TD Ameritrade came to us for a baseball-inspired campaign to run during games. The only thing is, America’s pastime and trading don’t exactly have a clear connection. Regardless, we found a way to bring the Green Room into the dugout with Yankee’s manager and professional face toucher Aaron Boone.
